In partnership with Open to Debate formerly known as Intelligence Squared U.S., NPR’s 1A hosted a preview of the debate, featuring the president of The Brennan Center for Justice at NYU’s School of Law, Michael Waldman, who argues that no, Donald Trump should not be given a chance based on the record turnout of protesters, divisive campaign, and continues to stoke the flames with his controversial executive orders. Arguing for the motion is Gayle Trotter, a political analyst and attorney, who argues that Trump deserves the chance to fulfill his promise to shake up the establishment, and deliver on his policy goals for his supporters.
