The first presidential debate of 2024 between Donald Trump and Joe Biden was historic for two reasons: First, President Biden’s weak performance set in motion a political movement that resulted in his withdrawal from the race later than any incumbent in modern history.
Second, it was the least civilized presidential debate we have ever had. It featured more personal attacks, more unanswered questions, and less effecitve moderation than any previous one.
