This week, we present our first “The Hopkins Forum” debate, in partnership with Johns Hopkins University, where we closely examine the nation’s highest court.
Americans, on both sides of the aisle, are having a hard time trusting the Supreme Court. According to a December 2024 Gallup poll, only 35% had confidence in the Court. So an all-star panel took to the stage to debate the following three questions:
- Should Supreme Court Justices Be Term Limited?
- Should Congress Expand the Court?
- Should External Ethics Codes Apply to the Court?
The debaters included The Honorable Jeff Sessions, former United States Attorney General; Ambassador Jeff Flake, once-member of the Senate Judiciary Committee; Cristina Rodríguez, Co-chair of President Biden’s Presidential Commission on the Supreme Court; and Jamal Greene, prominent Supreme Court commentator and law professor.
