Jeremy Chapman

Dr. Jeremy Chapman, M.D. is a nephrologist, transplant surgeon, and professor who has been called an influential global leader in the field of clinical transplantation. Dr. Chapman’s major interests are in renal disease and transplantation and he has wide preclinical and clinical research interests in kidney, pancreas, bone marrow, and islet transplantation. He served as Director of Renal Services and Director of Medicine and Cancer at Westmead Hospital in Sydney, Australia until his retirement in 2019 and had lectured at the University of Sydney. He is also the Editor-in-Chief for Transplantation and Transplantation Direct. Dr. Chapman is a past President of The Transplantation Society and the World Marrow Donor Association, a founding co-chair of the Declaration of Istanbul, and Chair of the Australian Bone Marrow Donor Registry. He was appointed as a Companion of the Order of Australia for eminent service to medicine, elected as a Fellow of the Australian Academy of Health and Medical Sciences in 2017, and was awarded the Medawar Prize, the most prestigious award for excellence in Transplantation Science.
