Jonathan Taplin
Jonathan Taplin is a writer, film producer, and scholar with thirty years of experience in the music and film industry. He is currently the Director Emeritus of the Annenberg Innovation Lab at the University of Southern California and taught at USC’s Annenberg School for thirteen years in the field of international communication management and digital media entertainment. Through his later work at the pioneer video-on-demand company Intertainer, he holds two patents for video-on-demand technologies. Taplin is the author of three books, including “The End of Reality: How 4 Billionaires are Selling A Fantasy Future of the Metaverse, Mars, and Crypto.” He is a member of the Academy Of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and sits on the Author’s Guild Council and the Board of the American Music Association. He was appointed to the California Broadband Task Force and the City of Los Angeles Technology and Innovation Council.
